Walham House
London, 2023
The project consisted of the renovation of a four storey Victorian property into a family home in Fulham, London. The brief was a full strip out and upgrade of the property to respond to the needs of a growing family, taking into account the importance of multi-functional spaces and being able to work from home.
Studio Tala Safavi carried out the project from inception to completion, including spatial reconfiguration, obtaining planning permission, interior architecture & design, lighting, creative direction and on-site advisory.
The renovated Walham House now comprises of a basement space with a kitchen, dining, entertainment room, wine store and utility, ground floor with a double reception room and study, newly upgraded staircase, five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a WC.
The concept was to curate a fine balance between the old and the new; original parts of the home including the main stair were retained, and new features added such as a new skylight, bespoke joinery and storage solutions.
