Studio Shed

Designed whilst working at Michaelis Boyd, the contemporary flat roof studio shed is carefully planned around an old Yew tree. Home to the owner’s photography studio, the shed’s façade is covered in vertical, charred timber boards to create a sharp form in the surrounding planted garden. The minimal metal framed glazed doors and sliding corner window create a bright internal space, with timber clad shutters flush with the cladding to transform the space into a photographer’s dark room.
